Teen Center Rules and Policies
The mission of the Sudbury Teen Center has always been to provide opportunities for our youth to socialize in a safe supervised setting. Rules and procedures have been established to ensure the safety and well being of all participants. Supervision is provided by the Teen Center Director and staff, parent volunteers, and a uniformed police officer. For the safety of all participants and to ensure that accurate identification and emergency information is quickly and easily available, registration and a picture ID card are required for entrance to the Teen Center.
The Sudbury Teen Center is a Park and Recreation program located in the Fairbank Community Center. Supervision is provided by the Teen Center Director and staff, parent volunteers, and a uniformed police officer.
The following rules have been established to ensure the safety and well being of all participants. Parental and teen cooperation is essential for this program to continue.
- The possession or use of weapons, alcohol, illegal drugs or tobacco products will not be tolerated. Anyone disobeying this rule will not be allowed to attend the next event(s) and his/her parents(s) will be notified. Appropriate action, including police involvement, will be taken.
- During Middle School events, no student is allowed to leave the Teen Center before closing unless a parent or parent-authorized individual comes inside to pick them up. Anyone disobeying this rule will not be allowed to attend the next event and his/her parents(s) will be notified.
- If a student is disrespectful of staff, volunteers, peers or equipment, their parents(s) will be called and the student will be removed from the facility.
- Out of town guests are allowed to attend events only with the prior permission of the Teen Center Director. A parent must call the director for permission.

ID Cards:
For the safety of all participants and to ensure that accurate identification and emergency information is quickly and easily available, registration and a picture ID card are required for entrance to the Teen Center. Anyone forgetting their card will not be admitted until 8:00PM, so that we may have the time needed to enter their name, and verify their student record in the computer. Persons forgetting their cards three times will not be admitted. New and replacement cards ($5.00) can be purchased at the Atkinson pool desk Monday-Thursday (not Friday) 7:00AM-7:00PM. Cards can not be purchase during Teen Center events.
Appropriate Dress:
Youth dress should be within reasonable limits. Tops should cover well: no skin showing at the waist, no strapless tops, and no low cut fronts or backs. Undergarments should not be showing. T-shirts and hats whose slogans and pictures are in poor taste are to be avoided. We would appreciate your help in creating a comfortable atmosphere for all attending.
Coat Procedure:
Coats and bags must be left in the kitchen (door in the gym) This area will be locked from 8:15 until 10:00PM. Students should take everything needed for the evening. Anyone entering the facility after the kitchen has been closed off will be asked to hang their coat on the rack in the hall and place bags and pocketbooks in the office (ask a staff member to open the office door). Do not leave valuables unlocked in the facility.
Medical Information:
In order to have access to personal medical supplies (epi pin, inhaler etc.) please leave them at the snack counter with your name. Do not leave them in the office or your coat pocket. Remember to take them home with you at closing time.
Dropping off Students:
Please do not drop off students prior to event opening time. Make sure they enter the building. It is important that students are picked up promptly at the end of the event.
Traffic Procedures:
The safety of children is our main concern. We are aware of the amount of traffic produced by our Teen Center events. We encourage car pools. We would appreciate your cooperation with the following traffic flow plan. When dropping off/picking up your child, please only enter at the Fairbank Road entrance nearest Hudson Road and park in the lot. If you are parking along the curb, remain in a single file.
